My background...

I completed my master’s degree in languages (Kannada). I worked 6 years as a guest lecturer in a degree college. During Covid, the college was closed, and I started to take online classes for students at Shri Sharada Public School. The experience was good for me and the school principal asked me to join as full-time member of faculty. I teach Kannada to students in grade 7 through 9.

Why I became a teacher...

I was inspired by one of my friends in college who was not just book smart but great at communicating to large audiences as well. Any time he spoke on stage, everyone appreciated the manner in which he did that.

My approach to teaching...

I am a practitioner of yoga and also a yoga teacher as well. I used to conduct yoga workshops for children as well. I start my classes with some breathing exercises (pranayama). It helps the children to settle down and focus on what happens in class.

My Aikyam experience...

I enthusiastically agreed to become a facilitator when the opportunity was given to me as I am personally interested in social service and helping my community. The students are very interested as well. Engaging with the community and attempting to find solutions for the problems they face is a very unique opportunity for them.
