Sanitation workers face health risks from exposure to hazardous waste, lack of proper protective gear, and long working hours. Additionally, the stigma associated with garbage collection can result in social exclusion and discrimination. Our team visited these workers to gain a better understanding of the challenges they face and realized that our local community members needed awareness campaigns on proper waster disposal and treating municipal workers with the respect they deserve. We also organized clean-up drives to encourage active citizen participation in maintaining cleanliness.
